About the company

Established in 2005 by Director, Andrew Glassby, ADG Energy Services Ltd offered a bespoke Process Engineering capability. Concentrating on the upstream and mid stream oil and gas sector the director applied his operations and design knowledge to problems presented across the UK sector North Sea and beyond into the wiser world theatre.
Up until 2013 offerings consisted of front line troubleshooting and Process modelling, both steady state and dynamic. Post 2013 a working alliance with CFD experts TotalSim was formed to leverage their expertise into the upstream oil and gas sector.
In 2019 a more mathematical modelling based offering was considered and added to the services on offer. This complements, somewhat, the Process simulation capability, allowing a less expensive method of calculating SIF timings for level and temperature excursions.
In 2020 a decision was taken to provide a totally new service in the provision of Drone Operations. This service is currently under development but will be designed to compliment ADG Energy Services Ltd current experience but also to venture out into other branches of the energy sector.

More than just a Process Engineering consultancy, ADG Energy Services Ltd now presents a number of discrete offerings :

About the director

Andrew Glassby graduated from the University of Leeds in 1990 after studying an honours degree course in Fuel and Energy Engineering.
Taking a position on the graduate training scheme with Total in the autumn of 1990 saw the beginning of a 30 year (to date) career in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Between 1990 and 2000 Andrew gathered his experience in onshore and offshore operations asset support, the core of his business. In 2005 Andrew founded his company ADG Energy Services Ltd and so began the company's journey up to today. Provision of bespoke front line asset focussed operations support has remained the core of Andrew's vision and values providing sympathetic support to the asset teams ensuring the most pragmatic solutions are realised.
2016 saw a personal development decision to embark on a Maths and Physics degree with the Open University. This decision was based upon the recognition that mathematical modelling could be used as a valuable tool and this degree would facilitate the successful implementation of the offering. Computational Fluid dynamics continues to be a significant area of interest in the mathematical modelling provision with OpenFOAM being the toolset of choice. OpenModelica has been selected as another toolset for the multi domain modelling solutions being offered, this toolset allows models to be developed based on a simple equation based approach where the toolset manipulates equations sets according to the desired outcome rather than the user developing multiple versions of the equations sets manipulated to suit.
Andrew is also a Drone Operator / Pilot and will be bringing this skill as an offering through the company.
